The Iora is a bedside bassinet that helps parents feel closer to their infant while they sleep. It adjusts upwards and downwards and can be moved through three slide positions to fit beside the bed of the parent, or in the corner of the room, to ensure that your baby is close at hand. The mesh siding is breathable, allowing air to flow through, and allows you to glance at your baby. And you can store additional pajamas and other items in the large storage basket beneath.
Unlike some other smaller bedside cribs, the Iora folds flat and comes with a carry-on bag to allow it to be taken anywhere. Our mum testers found it easy to move from room to room, and believed that it was a good size for a bedside cot that was not too big or too small. The large storage basket is perfect to store extra bedding or nappies.
This is a great choice for parents looking to sleep in a co-sleeping arrangement but don't wish to share their beds, or whose partners might be prone to mobility issues, such as arthritis or back issues. Our mom testers are thrilled with the convenience of being able to access their baby in the Iora, and that it has an adjustable reflux incline that can aid in reducing gas.
Our mothers appreciate that the mattress follows NICE guidelines. These include placing the infant in the Moses basket or crib on its own, without blankets, toys and pillows. The mattress is also a good firm and comfortable for babies, and sheets are easy to find. It isn't as light as the other cribs for bedside use, though, so if you want something lighter and more portable, consider one of the alternatives on our list.
